A Christmas story for all ages….

Stubby Pringles Merry Christmas” will once again be featured on WTBF Radio on Christmas during Christmas –at 7 p.m. on December 23; 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve; and 9 a.m. on Christmas Day.  John-Mike McCall, WTBF morning program host, said “‘Stubby Pringle’s’ Merry Christmas” was recorded by WTBF as a Christmas special in 2022 at the We Piddle Around Theater in Brundidge. The program was so popular that it has become a WTBF Christmas tradition with families throughout the area.  McCall said “Stubby Pringle’s Merry Christmas” offers a special and very meaningful way to gather on the nights before Christmas with family and friends. 

Stubby Pringle was a cowhand taking a break from his ranch duties to ride down to the valley schoolhouse for a Christmas dance. He plans to dance the night away …

However, on his long ride through the snowy mountains, Stubby Pringle finds the true meaning of Christmas.

In 2022, the story of Cowhand Stubby Pringle was told to a sample audience at the We Piddle Around Theater in Brundidge. by storyteller Delores Hydock. Her story of “Stubby Pringles Merry Christmas” was aired live by WTBF Radio from the folk life theater.

The radio broadcast was so popular that, John-Mike McCall, WTBF morning program host, wanted to make Stubby Pringle’s story a part of local Christmas lore. Hydock agreed for her recording to be shared.

So, yes, “Stubby Pringle’s Merry Christmas” will be aired again this year.

The story of Stubby Pringle, the Cowboy, who finds Christmas, will air on WTBF Radio at 7 p.m., December 23, at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 9 a.m. on Christmas morning.
