This past weekend, former Charles Henderson basketball star Tuti Jones jumped into second place all-time in career steals at Belmont University.
On Sunday, Jones earned two steals in a Belmont win over Bradley, which gave her 288 career steals, moving her into second-place all-time in school history. Jones already sits in first place in career steels in school history during the NCAA era of Belmont Basketball.
Earlier this year, Jones had already surpassed 1,000 career points, becoming just the 35th player in school history to do so. Jones now sits at 1,151 career points. Jones is currently averaging 7.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, two assists and 2.4 steals per game this season. She’s tallied 1,151 points, 471 rebounds, 320 assists and 288 steals so far in her career with plenty of games left.
During her Belmont career, she’s earned All-MVC and MVC All-Defense in 2023-2024 along with 2021-2022 All-OVC and OVC Defensive Player of the Year. She’s also earned a number of academic honors, including Division I-AAA ADA Scholar-Athlete and 2023-2024 Academic All-District.
Jones, the daughter of longtime legendary CHHS girls’ coach Dyneshia Jones-Elder, was a superstar at Charles Henderson, helping the school win a state championship as a senior. She earned All-State and Super All-Star honors in 2019 and 2020.
