Pike County Schools selects Teachers of the Year

Pike County Schools started off 2025 by announcing its Teachers of the Year.

Superintendent Dr. Mark Bazzell said the teacher selection took place just before the holidays, but official notification didn’t take place until Thursday when students and teachers returned to the classrooms to start the New Year.

“This year’s selections were an outstanding group of individuals,” Bazzezll said. “All of them are exceptional classroom teachers who are willing to go the extra mile for the students.”

The following teachers were selected as the Teachers of the Year at their respective schools:

• Banks School: Nicklaus Chrysson

• Center for Advanced Academics & Accelerated Learning – CA³L: Amy Garret

• Goshen Elementary School: Halee Burdick

• Goshen High School: Ali Grace Eiland

• Pike County Elementary School: Monique Mills

• Pike County High School: Joanna Kilpatrick

In addition, Bazzell said two of the Teachers of the Year were selected as the overall systemwide Teachers of the Year. Bazzell said they will go on to represent the school system at the state level.

The system-wide Teachers of the Year are:

• Elementary Teacher of the Year: Amy Garrett

• Secondary Teacher of the Year: Ali Grace Eiland
