Troy lands two more commitments from the transfer portal

The Troy Trojans earned another two commitments from the transfer portal on Friday when Delaware State receiver Kristian Tate and Missouri State defensive back Kaleno Levine committed to the Trojans. 

Tate is a 6-foot-2-inch, 175-pound receiver from Seat Pleasant, MD, that played high school football DeMatha Catholic High School. In 2024 for Delaware State, Tate caught 28 passes for 399 yards and three touchdowns along with returning nine kickoffs for 156. yards. Tate recorded a total of 29 catches for 408 yards and three scores along with 16 kickoff returns for 265 yards in two years at Delaware State. 

Tate will come to Troy with three years of eligibility left. He committed to Troy over offers from other schools like Bowling Green, Coastal Carolina, UAB, UT-Martin, James Madison, Western Michigan, Western Kentucky, Liberty and Eastern Michigan. 

Former Missouri State cornerback Kaleno Levine committed to Troy on Jan. 10.

Levine is a 5-foot-11-inch,180-pound cornerback from Fort Worth, Texas. He played high school football at VR Eaton High School, earning All-District honors in both football and basketball as a senior. He racked up 35 tackles as a senior. 

Levine started his college career at Southwest Baptist University in Texas and recorded nine tackles and a pass breakup as a true freshman. He transferred to Tyler Junior College as a sophomore and tallied five tackles, a forced fumble and four pass breakups in just four games. 

Levine transferred to Missouri State in 2023 and registered seven tackles, one tackle-for-loss and one pass breakup in four games. This past season, Levine broke out with 50 tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-loss and one forced fumble. He was also named Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. 

Levine committed to Troy over offers from other schools like UTEP, Arizona, Southern Miss, Louisiana Tech and Western Kentucky. He has one year of eligibility left. 

Tate is Troy’s sixth commitment from the transfer portal this week. The full list of transfer commitments this offseason is below.
