PCSO responds to 10K calls in 2024

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office responded to more than 10,300 calls during 2024.

Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas said in addition to the calls, there were 778 people booked into the Pike County Jail. He said the PCSO made 494 of those arrests, the remaining arrests were from felonies warrants for other agencies and some misdemeanor arrests he said.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank all of the hard working men and women of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office,” Thomas said. “I’m very proud of them for the job they do protecting and serving the citizens of Pike County and I want to thank them for their dedication and service.”

Thomas said during the year, the PCSO also handled civil and criminal process documents from 10 court systems, civil and criminal court services for three circuit judges, district court, juvenile court, drug court and probate court.

He said the PCSO also handles all inmate transport for local court systems.

Thomas also said during the year, the PCSO was also responsible for securing and storing ballot boxes for three elections as well as supervising Project Lifesaver for elderly citizens and providing School Resource Officers in Goshen and Banks.
