Troy signs former Houston defensive end Taleeq Robbins

On Tuesday, Troy University announced more signings from the transfer portal, which included the addition of former University of Houston defensive end Taleeq Robbins.

Robbins is a Philadelphia, Pa., native, that played high school football at Imhotep Institute. He was a three-star rated prospect coming out of high school as was rated as the No. 35 defensive tackle by 247Sports and the No. 21 player from Pennsylvania. He earned First-Team All-State honors with 40 tackles, six tackles-for-loss and there sacks as a junior.

The 6-foot-1-inch, 282-pounder started his career at Ole Miss in 2021 before transferring to Northeast Mississippi Community College as a redshirt freshman. He tallied 13 tackles and two tackles-for-loss in 2022 for NMCC before transferring to Houston.

In 2023, Robbins played in 10 games with four starts, recording 10 tackles and one tackle-for-loss. He started three games at defensive tackle and one at defensive end. In 2024, Robbins did not play. He will come to Troy with two years of eligibility. 

On Tuesday, Troy also announced the signing of previous Troy commitments in former Georgia Tech offensive tackle Patrick Screws Jr., Coastal Carolina receiver Tray Taylor, Delaware Stare receiver Kristian Tate, Missouri State cornerback Kaleno Levine and Vanderbilt safety Steven Sannieniola. On Monday, Troy also announced the signings of former Appalachian State offensive guard Garner Langlo, Washburn cornerback Jaquez White, Tennessee offensive guard/center Vysen Lang, Coffeyville Community College defensive end Deiarich Jackson Jr. and Georgia safety David Daniel-Sisavanh.
