Already, the year 2025, is off to a busy beginning at the Johnson Center for the Arts in downtown Troy.
Rebekah Alexander, JCA Community Engagement Liaison, said the JCA’s classes at Art by the Tracks are designed to provide creative outlets for individuals of all ages, helping them express themselves and connect with others.
“We hope to foster a love for art that not only enhances skills but also promotes well-being through imaginative exploration.,” Alexander said.
The Creative Explorers class invites young artists, ages 5-10 to unleash their imaginations through drawing, watercolor and collage.
Led by Dorothy Foster, kids will develop foundational skills while having fun every Tuesday afternoon.

The five-week Winter Workshop for ages 7-11 will embark on a journey to create winter wonderland masterpieces using creativity and foster a love for art.”
The Teen Art Lab is a foundational watercolor course for teens that will help them master techniques including mixing and layering led be Ms. Naimah.
“This class is perfect for young artists looking to express themselves through this beautiful medium,” Alexander said.
And designed for adults, A Date to Create, is an evening class designed to encourage friends, partners or relatives to bond through creativity.
