Chris Davis of the B & W Electric Pirates held the Rogers Company White Soxs scoreless in five of six innings and held them hitless until the sixth pushing his team to a 9-2 win last Friday.

Patrick Green came up with a double for the White Sox in the final inning to break up the no-hitter Davis had going, but with some outstanding defense by the Pirates all day long they cruised to the easy victory.

Pirate batters powered out 10 hits in the game and scored in every inning except the fourth, including three runs in both the second and third.

Davis, Josh Dykes and John Gillis all had 2-for-3 days at the plate, with Davis notching a double and a triple while Dykes and Gillis both had a single and a double. Chase Bradley finished the day with a home run, Levi Davidson had a triple and both Hawkins Drinkard and James Jackson had RBI singles.

Pirates 16, Dodgers 8

The Pirates bats came alive Saturday as well as they doubled-up the Kohn Motor Co. Dodgers 16-8 off the strength of 19 hits and a defense that turned three double plays on the day.

Davidson and Tanner Hensley combined on the mound through the six-inning game with Davidson getting his first start as a pitcher. The Pirate offense gave him plenty of support early as they put up seven runs in the first, two in the second and went on to score in every inning.

Davis, Dykes, Martinez and Bradley were all three perfect at the plate for the Pirates. Dykes went 4-for-4 with three doubles and four RBI’s, Davis was 3-for-3 with three doubles and Bradley and Martinez were both 2-for-2 on the day. Davidson finished with two singles, Gillis had three and three RBI’s and Hensley, Jake Dubose and Josh Crowe all had singles in the game.

Brent Kohn, C. Montgomery and J. Nelson all went 2-for-2 for the Dodgers with Nelson notching a double and two RBI’s and Montgomery getting a triple.

Angels 11, Cubs 6

The Printing Press Angels got a complete six-inning showing out of Brooke Sessions on the mound to pull an 11-6 win over the Smith Entertainment Cubs.

The Angels scored in every inning with a mix of timely hitting and good base running on offense while Sessions kept the Cubs off balance through most of the game. She struck out nine Cubs batters and even contributed at the plate with one of seven Angel hits.

Greg Davis led the way for the Angels at the plate notching two hits while Sessions, Aaron Allen, Derrick Daniels, Ryan Gentry and Corey Henderson all had hits. The Cubs got two hits out of Chris Ward and Dustin Smith, Josh Blythe and Stephen Pearlstein all added one apiece.

FARM LEAGUE

Blue Jays 21, Dodgers 18

The Troy Shrine Club Blue Jays held off a huge rally by the Domino’s Dodgers thanks to an un-assisted triple play by Dalton Harris that ended the game Saturday.

After going up 14-5 over the Dodgers, the Blue Jays watched as their opponents pulled it to within two holding them scoreless in the third and scoring seven of their own in the bottom half of the inning.

The two teams then played to a 21-18 deadlock in the final inning as the Dodgers loaded the bases and had no outs. Harris then pulled off the game-saving triple play to get the victory for the Blue Jays.

Quinton Moss had two home runs for the Blue Jays to lead them at the plate while Dylan Hollis finished with a double and a homer and Harris notched a triple and a home run. Anthony Siler had a triple. The Dodgers were led by Joseph LeVeque and Paul Messick, both with doubles.
