Troy Police Department detectives have nabbed another robbery suspect related to a crime last week.
Dezra Q. Tellis, 18, of Troy was arrested Monday afternoon and is charged with first-degree robbery for an alleged robbery on Feb. 29 at approximately 9:15 p.m.
Last week, two others were charged in connection with the same robbery.
Demetric Toney, 18, and Tamarus Moultry, 16, both of Troy, were taken into custody by TPD officers March 1 and charged with first degree robbery.
The three are charged for an alleged robbery that occurred near Winn Dixie Marketplace and Dozier Trailer Park on Hwy. 231.
According to Sgt. Benny Scarbrough, public information officer for the TPD, the victim was robbed at gunpoint by individuals who demanded money.
Bond for Tellis was set at $100,000 and $10,000 apiece for Toney and Moultry.
Scarbrough said the police department anticipates three other robbery cases will be cleared because of Tellis’ arrest.
Troy Police Chief Anthony Everage commended the officers involved in making the arrest for "a job well done" and the hard work put forth by them during the investigation of these crimes.
Between Jan. 1 and the end of February, 11 robberies were reported in the Troy city limits. During those same two months in 1999, only four robberies were reported.
