Myrtle E. Hall Tucker, 90 died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999 in Joliet, Ill.

Her memorial service will be held this spring in Montgomery. Arrangements will be announced. Fred C. Dames West Chapel is handling arrangements.

Survivors include, daughter, Lanita (Richard) Hagedorn of Darien, Ill; grandchildren, Tara Cooper, Scott Cooper, Rich Hagedorn, Amber Hagedorn; great-grandchild, Hunter Sloan.

She was born in Banks on Dec. 12, 1909. She resided in Montgomery most of her life. She moved to Ill. in 1993.

S. T. Drummer

S. T. Drummer of the Tarentum Community, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000.

Her funeral arrangements and survivors will be announced later by Bell’s Liptrot-Dawson Funeral Home.

George Earl Ward

George Earl Ward, 88, of Headland died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 7 in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with the Revs. Scott Byrd and Mark Brantley presiding. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory.

Survivors include wife, Sue Hartley Ward, daughters, Virginia Rountree of Mobile; Keloth Ann Thompson of Ozark; Janet Kervin and her husband Jeff Kervin of Troy; sons, Bruce Ward and his wife Shirley Ward of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; Cody Ward and his wife, Sheila Ward of Andalusia; grandchildren, Carla Rountree; Jason Ward; Michael Ward; Jon Ward; Joanna Ward; Geoff Ward; Ashleigh Thompson; Phillip Thompson; Joel Kervin; great-granchildren, Connor Ward; Russell Wells, and Chris Wells.

Casketbearers will be his grandsons and son-in-law, Jeff Kervin.

He was born and reared in the Sardis community of Henry County to the late Joseph Cody Ward and Essie Johnson Ward. He had lived near Brown’s Crossroads in Henry County since 1953. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church and was a former memberr of the Brown’s Crossroads Masonic Lodge #529. He was preceded in death by a son, Kent Miles Ward, M.D.; a sister, Evelyn W. Smith; a brother, Ross Ward, and a son-in-law, Thomas Jefferson Rountree.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 6 at the mortuary in Headland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Halcburg Fire Department c/o Danny Ward, Rt. 3 Box 63-0, Headland, Ala. 36345 or to a favorite charity.
