Four people are in jail after an early Thursday morning shooting at Homestead Mobile Home Park on U.S. Highway 29 near Banks.

Jonathan Demonte Hooten, 19, was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Thursday for first-degree robbery, attempted murder and first-degree possession of marijuana, according to police.

Court records reveal Hooten shot at Aaron Lee Russell, 22, from Troy, once with a .357-caliber handgun and said, “Bro, I will kill you.”

Hooten then shot Russell in the right leg and took property from his pockets, according to police reports.

Russell was dropped off at the Troy Regional Medical Center Emergency Room about 2 a.m. Thursday by Hooten and at least one other person, reports said.

An investigation by Troy Police led officers to execute a search warrant at a trailer in Homestead Thursday afternoon.

In addition to Hooten’s arrest, Johnathan Dillard, 19, of Troy, was charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree possession of marijuana. Darius Keith Roberson, 20, of Troy, was arrested for first-degree possession of marijuana and Victoria Paul, of Troy, was picked up on an outstanding alias warrant.

Police recovered property belonging to Russell inside the mobile home, along with drugs and guns.

Hooten, Dillard and Roberson are being held in the Pike County Jail. Hooten has a combined bond of $207,500, Dillard’s bond is set at $107,500 and Roberson’s bond is $7,500.

The case is still under investigation by the Troy Police Department.
