Troy’s Christmas Parade will hit downtown in less than one week and businesses and organizations are being encouraged to sign up and enter the celebration.

A Christmas Parade is a great way for businesses and organizations to showcase their civic pride and serves as a tremendously effective tool in promoting the town as well.

This year, businesses and clubs are behind the parade again, and a great offering of festivities awaits those who want to take in an eyefull of what the event will showcase.

The event is sponsored bu the City of Troy and the downtown Merchants Association.

Featured attractions will be the annual lighting of the downtown Christmas tree and music provided by eight participating bands. There will be drill team of horses coming from Ozark to keep the audience entertained.

Additionally, this year promises to be the biggest year ever for the parade with an estimated 125-150 floats.

The event only comes around once a year and offers families the chance to enjoy a celebration as a unit. Children, adults and all those in between are sure to have a great time at the multi-faceted event.

Show your pride in your community. Troy and Pike County have flourished through the willing and active participation of civic-minded people who want to see this area be able to provide for the future growth and prosperity of the children who are raised here.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. on November 29. Be there and bring your family and friends. There’s something imagical about a Christmas parade to practically everyone. Don’t miss it.
