success of Pioneer Day
The Pike Pioneer Museum’s Pioneer Day proved to be a smashing success, with scads of people turning out to take in the day’s events, including a show-stopping performance by Scheer’s Lumberjacks.
The success of Pioneer Day and the turnout and crowd reaction to the shows and events performed there ensure that next year, folks will be enthusiastic about returning to the event to take in more of the wonders there.
Practically everyone who attended the event would agree on one thing: the show was spectacular and is something the residents of Pike County were fortunate to have the chance to enjoy.
Those at the Pike Pioneer Museum did a terrific job of getting the word out on what proved to be a program well worth seeing.
Besides the lumberjacks, there were a host of other activities that contributed to the success of Pike Pioneer Day.
All in all, it took a lot of hard work, good planning and a realization of the interests of the community to make the program the success that it was.
Next year, Pioneer Day will have a hard time living up to what it was this year, but we know that the folks who pulled this one off will be back in full force to make sure the people of Pike County and those who traveled here from beyond will have the time of their lives.
Pioneer Day 1999 was a smashing success, no doubt about it. And we applaud those who made it happen, from the planners right down to the spectators who knew better than to miss a good thing.
