Troy police officers responded to reports of a prowler Tuesday night on LaShae Lane in Troy and arrested a local man.
When officers arrived at about 10:30 p.m., they confronted the suspect and chased him on foot, said Troy Police Chief Anthony Everage.
The suspect, who police identified as Marvin Darby, 31, of Troy, was taken into custody.
A subsequent investigation led to the recovery of stolen property taken from a residence and a vehicle in the area. The investigation is continuing and further charges may be made, Everage said.
Police also learned Darby is on probation in Baldwin County for breaking and entering a motor vehicle, said Sgt. Benny Scar-brough, public information officer with the Troy Police Department.
Scarbrough said Darby has been charged with the following: burglary third degree, breaking and entering a motor vehicle, criminal trespasssing first degree, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Darby was held in the Pike County Jail at press time under a $10,000 bond on the burglary charge and a $10,000 bond on the nbreaking and entering a motor vehicle charge.
The remaining charges are misdemeanors in the Troy Municpal Court, Scarbrough said. Darby may face probation revocation proceedings in Baldwin County, in addition to the charges here.
