Betty Joyce Culpepper

Betty Joyce Culpepper, of Banks, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery. She was 82. Funeral services for Betty Joyce Culpepper will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Zebulon Baptist Church in Sandfield with Rev. Donnie Dunn and Rev. Claude Adams officiating. Burial for Mrs. Culpepper will follow at Sandfield Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Culpepper was born June 28, 1929 in Phenix City, daughter of the late Alford Blanton and Gladys Harrison Blanton. She was one of the first sales ladies with Dot Ward at H.L. Green in Columbus, GA. She also worked at Banks Buy-Rite in Banks. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She was a virtuous woman, loving mother and special person.

The family wishes to express their thanks for the love and support from all her friends and neighbors. You always made her feel really special.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Culpepper was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Brannon Culpepper, Sr., who was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, and a daughter, Lori Culpepper.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in- law, Bruce B. Culpepper, Jr. (Melissa), Troy; three daughters and son-in-law, Jeanne (Gary) Garrett, Troy, Cathy Culpepper and Lisa Culpepper, both of Banks; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a special niece, June Shaw; as well as many special loving nieces, nephews and friends.
