Services for Delois Walker, age 73, who died Monday, July 27, 2009, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2009, at Shouting, Dancing, Deliverance Church, Troy, Alabama, with Pastor Tracy McClure, officiating.
Burial will follow at the McClure Town Cemetery, Troy, Alabama, under the direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home, Troy.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2009 at George F. Grubbs Funeral Home, Troy, Alabama.
Delois Walker was born the first child of the late Booker T. Maddox and the late Mary Pickett on June 8, 1936.
She received Christ under the leadership of Pastor Tracy McClure at Shouting, Dancing, Deliverance Church. She met and married the late Lil Doc Walker.
She was preceded in death by one sister, the late Ruby Mae Tolbert.
She leaves to cherish her memories: daughters and sons, Ella Mae (Sammy) Davis, Willie C. Walker, Mary Lois ( Willie) McClain, Willie D. (Theodora) Walker, Susie Lee Walker, Mattie Jane (Richard) Smith, Mandy Lee (Randy) Smith, Betty Jean Walker, Diane Walker, and Annette Williams; brothers and sisters, Willie J. Maddox, Elizabeth Maddox, Jesse Maddox, L. C. Maddox, Booker T. Maddox, Alice Maddox, Julia Maddox, Charles Corbitt, Benny Corbitt, Robert Lee Corbitt, Hazel Corbitt, Mary Corbitt and Virginia Carter; twenty – five plus grandchildren; twenty – five plus great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
