Mr. James Earl Stinson, age 88, of Brundidge died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL. Graveside services for James Earl Stinson will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Lakeview Cemetery in Brundidge, AL. with Rev. Ron Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Brundidge directing. Visitation for Mr. Stinson was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2009 at Skeen Funeral Home in Brundidge. Mr. Stinson was born October 6, 1920 in Pike County, AL. He was a barber in Brundidge for 64 years. Survivors include 1 son: Joe Stinson, Brundidge; 2 daughters and husbands: Jimmie and Leslie Jackson, Brundidge; Ann and Larry Webb, Brundidge; 3 grandchildren and spouses; Phillip and Shelly Webb, Montgomery, AL; Joshua Webb, Eufaula, AL; Shayne and Ben Slingluff, Dothan, AL; 2 great -grandchildren; Jack Thomas and Sadie Lucille Slingluff, Dothan; AL. 1 sister and husband: Betty and Max Avant, Brundidge; 1 sister-in-law: Florette Stinson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lucille Moody Stinson, 1 son, Phillip Earl Stinson, his parents, H.R. and Tura Bell Green Stinson, sister, Eleanor Lee and 1 brother, Frank Stinson. Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Stinson, Ben Slingluff, Mike Stinson, Donald Lee, Randolph Bray and Douglas Wright.
