Services for Ethel Wright Hodges, 79, who died March 31, 2009 was at 11 a.m. April 04, 2009 at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Pastors, Bennie Smith and Marion Johnson officiating.
Burial was in Carroll Street Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Harrison Funeral Home of Troy.
Visitation was held April 03, 2009 from 12-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hodges was born January 6, 1930 in Troy. She was a founding member of First Troy Seven Day Adventist Church. She retired from Bill’s Dry Cleaners after many years and volunteered at Hubbard Street Adult Day Care Center. Mrs. Hodges was an avid reader of the Bible and enjoyed completing puzzles and word searchers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Eula Wright and her husband, Mack Hodges, Jr.
Survivors include her children, Eula Wright Colbert of Madison, Georgia, William Alfred and Belinda Wright of Troy, Selma Lee Kimble of Troy, Mack and Connie Hodges, III of Montgomery, Clarence and Lorna Hodges of San Antonio, Texas, Dorothy Hodges of Troy, Spencer and Bettina Hodges of Clinton, Maryland, Anthony Hodges of Troy and Willie Otis Hodges of Huntsville; siblings, Melvin and Mary Wright of Troy, Samuel Wright of Cleveland Ohio, Cornelia and Jimmy Woods of Troy, Annie Lewis of Springsboro, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Wright and Ocie Pearl Downing both of Troy; brother-in-law, Edgar Carter of Troy and several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers were friends of the family.
Floral bearers were ladies of First Troy Seventh Day Adventist Church.
