Mrs. Mattie Mae Golden Hurley, age 87, of Troy, devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Fred Hurley and her parents, Wilton C. and Mary Emma Parrish Golden. Survivors are her sons and their wives Windham and Judie Hurley of New Brockton, Ala., James C. and Susan Hurley of Valdosta, Ga.; daughter and husband, Jeanette and Wyman Hamm of Troy, Ala. Grandsons and wives Rob and Shaunna Hurley of Fredricksburg, Texas, Chris and Tonya Hurley of Ft. Polk, La., Todd and Brandi Hurley of Valdosta, Ga., Buddy and Lynne Austin of Collierville, Tenn. Granddaughter and husband Sandra and Preston Guthrie of Prattville, Ala. Step-grandson and wife Ricky and Debra Hamm of Suwanee, Ga., step-granddaughter and husband Charlotte and Buck Watkins of Troy, Ala. Eight great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren. Brother, Curry W. Golden of Enterprise, Ala.
Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Funeral services will be also held Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Reverend Otis Derrah officiating. Private graveside services will follow.
