Colis Hobdy

The late Mr. Colis Hobdy was born to the union of the late Dolger and Annie Burney Hobdy on May 31, 1937 in Brundidge, Alabama.
He attended Pike County Public Schools and accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Brundidge. Later he joined County Line Missionary Baptist Church where he was a faithful member until he became ill.
On Tuesday, September 23, 2008 he made his transition at Troy Regional Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dolger and Annie Burney Hobdy; son, SSG Jerry L. Hobdy; 2 sisters, Sarah Jean Hobdy and Virginaretta Hobdy; 4 brothers, Douglas Hobdy, Henry Louis Hobdy, Houston Hobdy and Kenneth Reynolds Hobdy, Sr..
He leaves to cherish his loving memories eight devoted children: Helen E. Hobdy of Pittsburg, PA, Barbara and Beresford Barnett of Logansville, GA, LaFaye Hobdy of Brundidge, Terri and Johnny Jones of Hartselle, Gwenda and Ocpher Bryant of Ansonia, CT, Linda Hobdy Jordan of Brundidge, David Fred and Lois Matthews of Norfolk, VA and Lorene Matthews of Tuscaloosa; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Hobdy of Enterprise; twenty-eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mary and Eddie Jones of Detroit, MI, Annie and Bobbie Wallace, Priscilla and
Edward Walker and Barbara and Wilburt Jones all of Brundidge and Edith Gaskin of Canton OH; two brothers, Herman and Annette Hobdy of Detroit and Dolger Hobdy, Jr. of Brundidge; sister-in-law, Paulette Hobdy of Detroit; three aunts and a host of nieces nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
