Three Georgia residents have been arrested after they allegedly robbed the occupants of a local motel at gunpoint Sunday.

Troy Police officers responded to a reported robbery attempt at approximately 4:45 a.m. Sunday, where victims claimed the perpetrators entered their hotel room and robbed them at gunpoint, said Troy Police spokesman Sgt. Benny Scarbrough.

Oba Faruq, a 30-year-old black female from Atlanta; Tiffany Crawford, a 31-year-old black female from Clanton, Ga.; and Jermald Hills, a 34-year-old black male from Atlanta have been arrested as three of the suspects.

There is a fourth suspect in this case who was not arrested as of late Tuesday evening.

All three victims face two counts each of robbery first degree charges.

In addition, Hills faces a charge of trafficking marijuana, after police seized more than five pounds of the drug in a search of the suspect room.

Officers also obtained around $4,000 in cash.

According to the warrants in the Pike County Circuit Clerk’s office, the victims reported these suspects entered their rooms, pointed a gun at them and took a total of $3,400.

The reports read Crawford was carrying the handgun and the cash was found in Faruq’s purse.

Scarbrough said police recovered the handgun believed to be used in the incident during the investigation.

Each of the suspects were taken into custody and transferred Monday to the Pike County Jail, where Crawford and Faruq face bonds of $100,000 each and Hills of $150,000.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
