Troy Police on Friday made one arrest in connection with two burglaries; were investigating an early morning burglary; and were seeking a third man on an arrest warrant in connection with a July apartment burglary.
Police arrested Elliott Jarreau Scott, 25, of Troy, on two counts of third degree burglary. He was being held in the Pike County Jail on $20,000 bond.
The felony charges stem from a June 30 burglary at the Troy Alumni Affairs office, 100 Highland Ave., and a May 20 burglary at the Troy School of Nursing on Pell Avenue. “Laptop computers were stolen in both of those and we have recovered both of those computers,” said Sgt. Benny Scarbrough. “This is an ongoing investigation, so I’m not able to release any specific investigation in regards to this case or any other case he may be involved in.”
Police also were seeking a suspect who broke into a residence on South Knox Street early Friday morning. The victim, who awoke about 7:30 a.m., discovered the intruder in his home. “When the suspect saw (the victim) that’s when he fled out the back door,” Scarbrough said.
The thief took with him a PS3 gaming system, jewelry, currency and a television.
“The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 5 foot, 6 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds and wearing a white, tank top-like sleeveless undershirt and long pants,” Scarbrough said. Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the Troy Police Department at 566-0500 or the Secret Witness Line at 566-5555.
In a third case, Scarbrough said police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Zederick Donterrio “Zed” Andrews, 20, Troy, in connection with the burglary of an apartment at The Grove during early July.
“The burglary occurred sometime between July 1 and July 5,” Scarbrough said.
Taken in the burglary were three fire arms, including a .22-caliber rifle and a shotgun; a desktop computer system; a 32-inch television; and a PS3 gaming console.
“(Andrews) is being sought on a burglary third degree warrant and anybody with any information about him is asked to call Troy Police Department or the Secret Witness Line,” Scarbrough said.
