(Minnie) Catherine McMoy Davis, age 84, died Monday, August 27, 2012 peacefully at her home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Davis will be Friday, August 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Murphy’s Chapel Church in Troy, with Rev. David Stewart and Rev. Lavon Davis officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in the Murphy’s Chapel Church cemetery with Green Hills Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Thursday, August 30, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Mrs. Davis was a longtime member of Murphy’s Chapel Church and served as treasurer for over 50 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women of Murphy’s Chapel and the American Legion Auxillory.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Pugh Davis; sons, Wayne Davis (Peggy) and Paul Davis (Deborah) both of Troy; grandchildren, Brock and Holley Davis and Adam and Lauren Kilcrease, both of Troy; great-grandchildren, Patsy Ann, Laura Lynn, Brock Davis and Davis Kilcrease (Ansleigh) all of Troy; brother, Don McMoy (Carol) of Dallas TX and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Dewey Lee and Barto McMoy, her brother, Oliver Hayward (Boot) McMoy and her sister, Laura Pauline (Polly) McMoy.

The family would especially like to recognize her loving caregivers, Minnie Jackson and Fannie Croswell. A special thanks to the wonderful staff of Troy Regional Medical Center Home Health, especially Belinda Eaton and Hospice Advantage, especially Rita Outlaw and David Dewberry.

Pallbearers will be Brock Davis, Adam Kilcrease, Chuck Davis, Audie Davis, Lamar Davis and Roy Davis.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given in Mrs. Davis’s memory to Murphy’s Chapel UMC Cemetery Fund or to Hospice Advantage.
