Mrs. Robbie Brannon Shelley

Mrs. Robbie Brannon Shelley age 85 of Troy died Thursday, September 23, 2010 in a Dothan Hospital.

Funeral services were held Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 2:00 pm from the First Baptist Church of Troy with Dr. Luke Lane and Dr. Ellis Bush officiating. Burial followed in Green Hills Memorial Park with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Visitation was be held at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Shelley was the daughter of Herschel and Genie Brannon and grew up in the Headland area of Henry County.

She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved sewing, cooking, gardening, fishing, going to the “farm,” spending time with family, friends, and neighbors, and attending The First Baptist Church of Troy where she was a dedicated member of the Builders Sunday School Class ,She was loved and will be missed.

She is survived by her Husband of 66 years Rudolph E. Shelley of Troy, 2 daughters Wendy Shelley Ford and Jane Shelley both of Troy, her grandchildren Robert Hunter (Audra) Ford Jr., Brannon Sykes (Kimberly) Ford, Anna Shelley Ford, and Amy Charlotte Ford, her great grandchildren Joanna Morgan Ford, Mason Hunter Ford, Robert Hunter Ford III, and Sophia Deanne Ford, a Niece Sylvia and Bob Hulcher, a nephew Jerry and Phyliss Hicks, cousins Lindy Alexander and Corrine Kirkland, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Louise S. Walden, Reuben S. and June Shelley, Harry Kenneth and Peggy Shelley, and Sandra Patricia S. and Mike Bundrick, cousin Susie and Patrick McMahon several special nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers were Burton Green, Ken Cox, Wayne Gibson, David Ingram, Patrick McMahon and Mark Kelly

Honorary pallbearers were the Builders Sunday School Class at First Baptist.

Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, the Troy Public Library of the charity of your choice.
