Beulah Gibson Blanton

Beulah Gibson Blanton, age 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Tallahassee, Florida on September 7, 2012. Born in Troy, Alabama on October 22, 1926 to parents Beulah Rollins Gibson and Johnson Russell Gibson, Sr. She was the fifth of eight children. She grew up in Troy and married childhood sweetheart Harold H. Blanton also of Troy.

A resident of Leon County Florida since 1966 Beulah was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother living an active and fulfilling life. She was the backbone of her family and served as a loving role model for them all.

Survivors include daughters Pamela Blanton Peacock (Gerry), Kimberly Blanton Faulkner (Mike), Anita Blanton Collins (Hart) and son Harold H. “Hal” Blanton, Jr. (Brenda). Six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Debi Collins (Gary), sister Patty Gibson, sisters-in-law JoAnn Blanton Council Norris, and Linda Blanton Edison and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold H. Blanton, granddaughter, Meggie Faulkner, and grea-granddaughter Hailey Dunson, brothers Russell Jr., Billy and Gussie Gibson and sisters Virginia Givson Hall and Valeria Gibson Wells.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. September 12, 2012 at Culley’s Meadowwood in Tallahassee, Florida.
