Troy takes out Andalusia

Neither wind nor Andalusia could stop the Troy 13-Under tournament team as it competed in the first round of the District Tournament.
By the end of the first half, it was 3-0 and by the time the final buzzer sounded it was 5-0, as Troy advanced to the championship round against Eufaula, who beat Ozark 2-0 earlier in the morning.
“I thought we played well,” head coach Ken Labrant said. “We hustled and played well defensively.
“I do wish we were able to make crisper passes though. We got caught up in lifting the balls too much towards the end, and we can’t do that with this kind of wind.”
At one point in the game, the wind was up to 15 mile per hour.
Jack Labrant and Baylor Barnes each scored two goals, while Reilly Fox added another.
“I thought we had some good scoring opportunities (against Andalusia) but I would have liked to see us take a few more shots.
“Eufaula is a good team traditionally. I thought we played pretty good in the first game, but for the championship game, we are going to need to play a little better, especially with our passes.”
Eufaula and Troy will play for the right to go to Dothan today at 1 p.m.
