13-Under Tournament team claims District

Just like in the first game of the day, the Troy 13-Under Tournament wasted little time to dispatch its opponent.
And this time, the win was good enough for a state tournament bid.
Eufaula and Troy faced off against one another and as it turned out the visiting team was no match for Troy, as they fell 7-0.
Ben Salmon and Jack Labrant each scored two goals, while Taylor Montgomery. Daniel Macias and Rhett Outlaw all added one a piece.
“I thought our guys played very well,” head coach Ken Labrant said after the championship win.
“I think this win says a lot about both our offense and defense. We did a good job of making crisp passes and our defense never really allowed (Eufaula) over midfield. They guys are getting a long great, they are all friendly with each other on the field and they aren’t selfish. That’s the kind of team play you want to see going into state.”
While his team may have outscored its two opponents 12 in rout to the district championship, Labrant said he knows things are going to get harder in Dothan
“There are going to be a lot of tough teams in Dothan and we have to be ready. I told the guys to enjoy these wins now because these kind of games will not be in the case when we get to state.”
The State Tournament in Dothan will take place on Nov. 20.
