Billy K. Tillery, Sr. of Troy died Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at his residence. He was 68. Funeral services for Billy K. Tillery, Sr. will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Reverends Keith Reynolds, Neal Jackson and Kenny Horn officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Mr. Tillery will lie in state from 9-10 a.m. at the chapel one hour prior to the service. Visitation for Billy K. Tillery, Sr. will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2010 at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy. He was born January 11, 1942 in Pike County, Alabama. Mr. Tillery was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he faithfully served our country and will be honored with Military Rites by Charlie’s Angels. He was also a truck driver in the transportation industry. He was preceded in death by his parents Kendrick Tillery and Dixie Emerson Tillery. Survivors include his wife: Trudy Tillery, Springhill, AL; 3 children and spouses: Ken (Gina) Tillery, Newton, AL; Tim (Wanda) Tillery and Lynn (Dan) Maddocks, all of Troy, AL; sister-in-law: Shirley Barron, Troy, AL; brother-in-law and wife: Pete and Venette Austin, Pelham, GA; grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law: Marlion and Louise Tillery, Montgomery, AL; a special friend: Jerry Thompson, Brundidge, AL; several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. Serving as pallbearers are K.J. Hornsby, Tyler Tillery, Shane Tillery, Perry Brunson Tillery, Austin Jordan and Bryan McCall. Memorials may be made to Springhill Cemetery fund.
