Visitation was held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2011, at George F. Grubbs Funeral Home, Troy, Alabama.

Mrs. Mary Emma (Reynolds) Freeman was born November 26, 1922 to the late Mrs. Maggie Lee Harris Jackson and Mr. Doc Reynolds in Pike County, Alabama.

Mrs. Freeman moved to Panama City, Florida, where she spent many years enjoying life with her family. In December 1941, she was united in marriage to Mr. J. B. Freeman, who preceded her in death. While enjoying their bond they were blessed with three children, Mr. Ardenia Freeman, Mrs. Middle B. Russell, and Mrs. Belinda Andrews, who all preceded her in death.

Mrs. Freeman became a Christian at an early age. She was an active member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Panama City Florida. Mrs. Freeman proudly served on the Usher Board until her health failed her. On Monday, January 3, 2011, God called her home in Troy, Alabama to be welcomed by her husband and children.

Her greatest joy was her great-grandson, JaKar. Her joy and love for him was shown when she spoke of him often. She could be found, even at the ripe age of 88, reading her Bible, one of her favorite verses being Psalms 51.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her granddaughter, Ms. Shayla Williams of Panama City, FL; her great-grandson, JaKar Miller of Panama City, FL; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Jane Jones and Mrs. Georgia Mae Jackson of Troy, AL; two brothers, Mr. Joe T. Jackson of Panama City, FL and Mr. Adell Jackson of Troy, Alabama; her stepdaughter, Ms. Ada Lois Sessions of Panama City, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
