The Troy Shrine Club Holiday Bazaar on Saturday will be a fun and exciting place for all ages. Admission is free and everyone is invited.
Lisa Knotts, event publicity chair, said a full day of entertainment and shopping opportunities has been planned, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Pike County Fairgrounds.
“The entertainment will begin at 9 a.m. and the arts and crafts booths will open at the same time,” Knotts said. “The Lige & Herman Band will kick off our entertainment. The band plays all kinds of music including the songs of Christmas. We have a large variety of arts and crafts vendors with items for personal use or as gifts.”
The arts and crafts booth will feature handmade jewelry, vinyl work, blankets, melted wine bottles, character ornaments, handmade belt buckles, Mary Kay products and much more. There will also be a variety of baked goods for sale. To add to the variety, one vendor will have turtles, frogs and lizards so there will be something for many different interests.
The entertainment lineup includes the SheBANG! Cloggers at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., the American Legion Dancers at 11 a.m. and an Elvis impersonator at 1:30 p.m. The Lige and Herman Band will play at times between and after.
“While the different entertainment groups set up, we’ll have the cake walk with both store bought and homemade cakes,” Knotts said. “Tickets for the cake walk will be one dollar.”
Face painting for kids will also be available for a small fee.
Children’s storytime will be from noon until 2 p.m. Stories for the Christmas season will be read by volunteers.
Knotts said that Santa Claus has agreed to take time out from his busy schedule at the North Pole to visit with the children who come to the Troy Shrine Club Holiday Bazaar.
Santa Claus will hear the wishes of boys and girls from 9 a.m. until noon and from 2 until 5 p.m. He will also be available for photographs for a small fee.
“All of the money raised at the Troy Shrine Club Holiday Bazaar will benefit the Children’s Hospital,” Knotts said. “The holiday bazaar is an opportunity to enjoy a day of entertainment and fun and support the Children’s Hospital.”
The holiday bazaar will be held in the banquet room at the Pike County Fairgrounds on U.S. Highway 231 between Troy and Brundidge.
