Brittany Shepard Pugh

Brittany Shepard Pugh, age 24 of Troy, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was granted her angel wings on March 7, 2011. Funeral services for Mrs. Pugh will be held Friday, March 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist church in Troy with Dr. Luke Lane and Rev. Jimmy Fryer officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Green Hills Funeral Home directing.

Brittany touched many throughout her short, yet memorable life. From a young age, Brittany was always a high energy person, who was full of life. She attained all of her goals through hard work, dedication, and 110 percent commitment to every aspect of her life.

Brittany was an Honor graduate at Carroll High School in Ozark. After graduation, she attended Troy University. She graduated in 2007 with her bachelor’s degree in Elementary education, and in 2010 with her master’s degree in Elementary education.

Brittany taught 3rd grade at Barbour County Intermediate School. Students for three years were graced with the presence of a dedicated and committed teacher. She shaped young lives each day and instilled values and knowledge, while encouraging them to never give up on their hopes and dreams.

She found her soul mate and partner for life while in college, and married the love of her life, Clint Pugh, on March 17, 2008. She made the needs of her family top priority through her selfless and unconditional love.

She lived a life wrapped in the love of Jesus. From the time she was young, she never neglected the opportunity to take a stand as a witness for Christ. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Troy.

Her family will always cherish the memories of her faithful love for all and caring heart. Her life exemplified the best qualities of a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pugh is preceded in death by her grandfathers, John C. Byrd, Aubrey Shepard and Charles Edgar. She is survived by her husband, Clint Pugh of Troy; father, Tim Shepard; mother, Kim Shepard of Ozark; one sister, Brooke Campbell (Ryan) of Ozark; grandparents, Corene Edgar of Ozark; John and Peggy White of Dothan; uncle, Mike Byrd (Alicia) and cousin, Justin; uncle Tony Shepard (Tammy); one niece, Allie Campbell.
