She also had several nieces and nephews whom she adored.

Jane was born in Troy, Alabama, on October 15, 1922. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wilkerson Henderson. She had one brother, the late Frederick Fox Henderson (Louise).

Jane is the oldest surviving grand niece of the former Governor Charles Henderson and the granddaughter of philanthropist Fox Henderson, both of Troy. Jane’s family was one of the oldest banking families in the South. This heritage began with The First National Bank of Troy and Farmers and Merchants National Bank of Troy.

Jane is a graduate of Troy High School and Hollins College in Roanoke, Virginia. Jane was a long time member of First United Methodist Church and a former member of the Cynorsure Club. A game of bridge and lunch with her lifelong friends was a weekly event. In her younger days, Jane loved to play golf, which was a strong legacy she left to her sons. Her hobbies and most teachable moments to her children were through travel. Jane kept extensive diaries in order to preserve the wonderful moments the family shared. Jane’s greatest gift she leaves her family is to love each other unconditionally and remain united.

The family would like to thank Edwin May, Director of Comfort Care Hospice and the staff who provided such wonderful care and love to Jane and her family. Many thanks also to Charlotte, Florine, Felicia, Jean, and Faye.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at The First United Methodist Church of Andalusia. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the services at the church.
