Former Troy Trojan baseball star Clint Robinson has been traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Robinson had been part of the Kansas City Royal’s organization for the previous six years.
Robinson was part of a four player deal that sent he and Vin Mazzaro to the Steel City in return for two rookie league pitchers, Luis Rico and Luis Santos.
In his career in the Royals farm system, Robinson garnered a reputation of being a power hitter that could also hit for average. Robinson suited up in nearly 700 games and batted .308 with 110 homeruns and 452 RBI.
During the summer in 2012, Robinson had a short stint in the big leagues that saw him get playing time in four games.
