Troy will face seven bowl teams in 2013 including ACC foe Duke.
All game dates have yet to be released, but the Trojans will travel to Duke in 2013 and face the Blue Devils at Veterans Memorial Stadium in 2014.
It was also announced that Troy will play Savannah State on Sept. 7 as the replacement for the originally scheduled game against Alcorn State.
Savannah State made headlines in 2012 for all the wrong reasons as the team fell to Oklahoma State 84-0 to open the season. The next week, SSU was defeated by Florida State 55-0 in a game that was shortened to three quarters due to lightning. The opening spread of that game had SSU as 70.5-point underdogs, the largest opening spread in sports gambling history (link here). Savannah State finished 2012 1-10 as a member of the MEAC.
Former Troy athletic director Steve Dennis signed the Savannah State deal back in the summer of 2012.
Duke finished 2012 6-7 falling in the Belk Bowl, 48-34, to Cincinnati. The matchup with Duke was made possible due to the early departure of Florida Atlantic and Middle Tennessee State to Conference USA. Florida International and North Texas were already scheduled to leave the Sun Belt then.
The six other opponents Troy will face that played in a bowl game in 2012 are Mississippi State (Sept. 21), Ole Miss (Nov. 16), Western Kentucky, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe and Arkansas State.
The Sun Belt Conference will release the league dates later.
