Spring has sprung and with it comes SpringFest in Brundidge.
The Brundidge Business Association’s annual celebration of the season is set for Saturday on the grounds of the historic Bass house in downtown Brundidge.
SpringFest will get underway at 9 a.m. with arts and crafts, entertainment, demonstrations, food galore and a parade. SpringFest will wind down around 3 p.m.
Admission to SpringFest is free and everyone is invited to spend the day in Brundidge.
“SpringFest offers something for everyone,” said Dixie Shehane, event publicity chair. “We’ll have a wide variety of arts and crafts that will include unique gifts for mother on her special day, which is Sunday. SpringFest will be a good opportunity for families to come together and enjoy a day of fun with mom.”
Shehane said studio 116 will have craft opportunities for kids as will Walgreen’s.
“The kids will enjoy making the crafts while their parents shop,” Shehane said. “And, we have a variety of entertainment for all musical interests. In the morning, Lenny Trawick and his band will play a special brand of country music and, in the afternoon, Henry Everette and Casual will entertain with everything from rhythm and blues to old school.”
While in town for SpringFest, Shehane said everyone is encouraged to visit the downtown shops.
“Several of the shops will have in-store specials for the day and others will have sidewalk sales, so our downtown merchants will also offer some great shopping opportunities,” Shehane said.
The reunion tent will be set up on the grounds and everyone who has lived or worked in Brundidge is invited to stop by the tent and register for some great gifts to be given away throughout the day.
“The reunion tent is a place to renew old friendships,” Shehane said. “It’s the place that you’ll want to come back to several times during the day because you’ll never know who might be there.”
The SpringFest parade will begin at 1 p.m. and follow a Main Street route. Then it will be back to the Festival grounds for more shopping, food and fun.
