Two people were arrested after a brief chase Friday night.

Alabama State Troopers attempted to stop a gold Buick LeSabre on State Route 39 about 10:30 p.m. The vehicle failed to stop and a chase began.

The vehicle was stopped several minutes later at the Piggly Wiggly on Three Notch Street in Troy.

Walter Young, 32, of Troy, was arrested and charged with attempting to elude and reckless driving. The passenger, Dondavious Harvis, also from Troy, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.

Over 15 officers from AST, Troy Police Department and the Pike County Sheriff’s department responded to the scene.

Troopers continue to investigate the case. More information will be posted when it becomes available.
