The body found in a pond at the end of Diana Street in Troy Wednesday morning has been identified.
The Department of Forensic Science confirmed to Troy Police that the body found was Robert Earl Teague, 44, of Troy.
Teague was reported missing on Sept. 14 by family. He lived on Diana Street.
Police do not suspect foul play, but the case remains under investigation by the Troy Police Department.
Commissioner Homer Wright was bush hogging an area around the pond Wednesday morning when he noticed a strange odor and then spotted an object in the water. Wright said he was able to see arms and realized the object was a person.
Police, CARE Ambulance, the Troy Fire Department, District Attorney’s Office and Pike County Coroner responded to the scene.
Police believe Teague had been in the water for several days prior to being found.
