Annie H. Owen

Annie H. Owen, 93, of Panama City, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at her daughter’s home. She was born in Chilton County, AL, and lived in Bay County since 1981. Mrs. Owen was a graduate of Livingston College, and retired after 30 years as an elementary school teacher in the Alabama School System. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven where she taught Sunday School in the 1990’s. Mrs. Owen enjoyed being outdoors in her garden, sewing, crafts, cooking and watching Auburn Football. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos L. Owen in 2002.

Survivors include her children, Carol Owen and her husband Michael Williams of Peachtree City, GA, Jo Langston and her husband John of Panama City, Jimmy Owen and his wife Toni of Panama City Beach and Don Owen of Panama City; her grandchildren, Chris, Jason, Kevin, Drew, Kelsey and Melissa; great-grandchildren, Haley, Hope, Faith, Cloee and Logan; her sister-in-law, Evelyn Conway; and a special friend, Juanita Taylor.

A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 2, 2013, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Craig Brannon officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery with Rev. John Whitley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00. Special thanks are extended to the staff at the Sterling House and the Hospice of the Emerald Coast. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Emerald Coast Hospice are encouraged.
