Theft foiled by armed resident

Two men kicked in the front door of a home and an armed resident was there to greet them.
The incident happened Monday at 12:19 p.m. At a home on County Road 1165.
When the resident fired a shot at the men they fled the scene, leaving behind a weapon.
“Officers responded and made contact with them at 12:26 p.m.,” said Lt. Bryan Weed of the Troy Police Department.
The men were taken into custody and have been tied to other burglaries in the area. Pending the ongoing investigation, the suspects’ names have not been released.
