Due to the stormy weather conditions, the Pike County Relay for Life Survivors’ Dinner has been reschedule and will be held at 6:30 Thursday night at the Family Life Center of Park Memorial United Methodist Church.
Tammy Calhoun, Relay board chair, said all cancer survivors are invited to attend along with one guest.
“We want to honor all cancer survivors in our area and give them a chance to celebrate together,” Calhoun said. “Hank Jones, the 2014 Relay for Life honorary chair, will be our featured speaker. As always, we will give several special awards including the 2014 Relay for Life Caregiver Award. We also have a large number of door prizes to be given throughout the night.”
Each survivor will receive a gift bag that includes a Relay for Life survivor’s T-shirt, a parking pass for Relay night on Friday and several other gifts.
Special entertainment will be presented by Lenny Trawick, a local singer, musician and songwriter.
“Everyone will enjoy Lenny’s music and we appreciate him being a part of our Survivors’ Dinner each year,” Calhoun said. “We hope that every cancer survivor will accept our invitation and join us for a night of celebration and fellowship.”
Calhoun said it is helpful but not necessary to notify the board of attendance. The number to call is 334-482-4499. “But, even if you don’t have a chance to call, come anyway,” she said. “We hope that every cancer survivor in Pike County will join the celebration.”
