Southside Baptist Church in Troy is one of many churches of different denominations having Vacation Bible School this week. Nearly 100 children from kindergarten to fifth grade are attending the morning-long school to learn more about the Bible and God’s Word. Andrew Knick, church pastor, said the theme of this year’s VBS is Agency D-3, which is a study designed for children to investigate God’s Word through Bible study, music and arts and crafts while enjoying Christian fellowship. Time is set aside for cracker snacks and recreation. In each cracker treat was a mission statement for children. Peyton Stallings’ mission statement is Matthew 22:37 and Peyton said he’s up for his mission. Music has an important and popular place at most all VBS. K.C. Bradford found moving to music is fun. The children at VBS drew self-portraits and then found ways to disguise their portraits. Any successful investigator needs a good disguise.
