With over 50 cars already entered, the Troy Kiwanis Club is gearing up for today’s 4th annual Best in Alabama Car Show.
The show, which benefits the Eliminate Project designed to rid the world of maternal and neonatal tetanus, begins at 9 a.m. at Ken Cox Ford. Activities end at noon.
Richard Posey, owner of the 1968 Pontiac Firebird convertible that won last year’s show, said he is looking forward to returning. “The show last year was an interesting, fun and overall good show,” he said.
While the cars are the appeal of the show for most of the public, Kiwanis members stress the importance of their project funded by the proceeds.
“One person’s entry fee will be enough for 11 tetanus vaccinations.” Caleb Dawson said of the $20 entry fee.
Each car has a chance to win one of the 28 hand made awards that will be given in categories including classic original, classic modified, late model, best import, best engine, longest relationship, diamond in the rough and  Kiwanis favorite, among others.

General public admission is free and door prizes will be awarded.
