Pike County football teams headed to playoffs

Four area high school teams are headed to the first round of the playoffs Friday.
Class 5A Charles Henderson finished their regular season with an overall record of 7-3 and 5-1 in Region 2. The Trojans will host Region 3 opponent Beauregard from Opelika. The Hornets won their region, with an overall record of 7-2 and a 5-1 mark in the region.
Class 3A Pike County, who finished the regular season with a record of 6-3 overall and 4-2 in Region 2, will face Region 3 opponent Fultondale from Birmingham. The Wildcats finished the regular season with an overall record of 6-4 and a 4-2 mark in their region.
Class 2A Goshen will host Region 2 opponent Geneva County. The Eagles finished the regular season with a 6-4 overall record and a 5-2 record in their region. The Bulldogs will come into the playoffs with a 6-3 overall record and a 5-2 record in Region 2.
And AAA Pike Liberal Arts will travel to Bessemer Academy Friday in their first-round playoff game. The Patriots finished the year 8-3 overall and 3-3 in Region 2. They will face a Rebels team who finished the season undefeated.
All games are set for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
