The Charles Henderson High School baseball and softball teams will sponsor a “Meet the Trojans” event Feb. 7 at the Troy Rec Center.
The event, designed to raise funds and awareness for the baseball and softball programs at Charles Henderson, will begin at 6 p.m. and will include a silent auction, — with funds going to the athletic program — guest speaker and dinner.
Eight-year MLB veteran with the Baltimore Orioles and Pike County native Wesley Wright will be this year’s guest speaker.
“We like to kind of get somebody who can give a good message,” Charles Henderson head baseball coach Derek Irons said. “Wesley is a Pike County native and entering his eighth season and he is a success story and he can give a great message.”
This will be the sixth year Charles Henderson has held this event and Irons said the community has been generous with its support every time.
“We always have a pretty good turnout and our community is so supportive of our school in so many ways and certainly baseball and softball fall under that,” Irons said.
Tickets for the event are $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under and can be purchased from any CHHS baseball or softball player.
