With her involvement in the community and extra-curricular activities, it is no surprise Charles Henderson High School senior Brandi Eldridge received a full-tuition scholarship to Ohio State University.

“I’m the type of person who likes to be involved,” Eldridge said.

“If I can help in any kind of way, then I want to do that, so that’s why I’m involved in a lot of different things.”

Eldridge is involved in the Key Club, Interact Club, Spanish Club, the Student Government Association, the Honor Society and plays clarinet in the school band. For many of these clubs, she spends time volunteering throughout the community.

“Everyone doesn’t have everything that I have,” she said.

“So if I can do anything to help give back to someone else that has less than me, then I want to give them an opportunity to have something they normally wouldn’t have.”

She also is enrolled in all honors classes and has been throughout her time at CHHS.

Eldridge’s father lives in Ohio, so the thought of going to Ohio State began to enter her mind before her senior year.

In summer 2014, she was finally able to visit the campus.

“I fell in love with it,” Eldridge said. “They’re very involved and everyone has a lot of school spirit.” Ohio State reminds her of CHHS.

CHHS also has a lot of school spirit, and there is a sense of family and togetherness, according to Eldridge.

“I know that if I ever need something, I know there are tons of people here who can help me.

“It seems like everything is coming together, so that’s a good feeling,” she said.

Once at Ohio State, Eldridge will pursue a major in physical therapy.

“It’s really diverse,” she said. “I can work with different people, and there will always be a need for physical therapists.”
