Coming off of their best season in school history, the Troy University soccer team is looking to find similar success in 2015.

Wednesday, the Trojans took the first step towards another conference title run with the announcement of its 2015 signing day class.

In his second year at the helm at Troy and first full year of recruiting with the Trojans, head coach Jason Hamilton announced 14 members of the team’s signing class.

“We are very excited for the players that will be joining the program for the 2015 season,” head coach Jason Hamilton said. “It is a big class that will add some depth for us. As a coach, this class is exactly what you want, players that can come in and give an immediate impact to your program. Coming off of a great year and having nine returning starters, a class of this size puts pressure on those returning players not to get complacent.”

The emphasis of the 2015 recruiting class appeared to be heavily geared towards midfielders.

In all, Troy inked nine midfielders, three defenders and two forwards spanning five different states.

Hamilton, a former Florida Gators assistant coach, had the most success in Florida, nabbing seven of his 14 new recruits from the Sunshine State.

The Trojans also got commitments from three in-state players in Amber Harless, Brooke McKee and Brittany Yonder.

Troy is coming off of its best season in school history in 2014, a 16-6 overall record and second-place finish in the Sun Belt tournament.

The Trojans will also return key starters in senior midfielder Alissa Jones and freshman goalkeeper Mikki Lewis.
