Students from Troy Elementary School and Charles Henderson Middle School headed to Ozark Thursday afternoon to compete in an archery tournament at the Ozark Civic Center.

Troy swept the competition, finishing first overall in the team standings for both elementary and middle school competition.

In the elementary division, Troy Elementary finished with an overall team score of 2844, edging out Highland and Dale County.

In the middle school division, Charles Henderson Middle School finished with an overall team score of 3125.

Head coach Forrest Lee was pleased with his team’s performance, noting that his students have improved their average score by almost 30 points from last year.

In the female elementary school section, Troy Elementary student Kaley Lecroy finished in first place with a score of 246.

In the male elementary school section, Troy Elementary student Caleb Watkins finished in second place with a score of 263.

In the middle school division, Gracie Sneed finished in second place with a score of 265.

For the males, Brandon Cain finished in first place with a 277, the highest score of the tournament.

With the victory, both the Troy Elementary and Charles Henderson Middle School teams advance to the state tournament April 10th in Montgomery.
