The Brundidge Business Association is taking applications for the 2015 Miss and Little Miss Brundidge Pageant on April 18.
Kim Stevens, pageant director, said expectations are that this year’s pageant could attract more contestants than last year’s.
“We had 46 entries in the 2014 pageant, and we were extremely excited by the response,” Stevens said. “Miss Brundidge Aimee Frankum and Little Miss Brundidge Addie Davis have been outstanding representatives of our community. We always look forward to the pageant and encourage all young girls and women to participate.”
The pageant will feature eight divisions: Tiny Miss, ages two through four; Future Miss, ages five and six; Little Miss, first grade; Petite Miss, second and third grades; Young Miss, fourth and fifth grades; Pre-Teen Miss, sixth through eighth grades; Teen Miss, ninth and tenth grades; and Miss, ages 17 through 21.
“All divisions of the pageant are open with the exception of Miss Brundidge and Little Miss Brundidge,” Stevens said. “To enter those divisions, the contestants must either live in Brundidge or attend a school in Brundidge.”
The entry fee for all divisions is $60.
Applications for the pageant are available at First National Bank and Troy Bank & Trust in Brundidge and at local schools. The deadline for entry is April 3.
The pageant will be held at the Fine Arts Building at Pike County High School and will be divided into two performances, at 2:30 and 6:30 p.m.
The Tiny Miss, Future Little Miss, Petite Miss and Young Miss divisions will be held at 2:30 p.m. The Little Miss, Pre-Teen, Teen and Miss divisions will be at 6:30 p.m.
“It is recommended that all divisions, Tiny through Petite, wear heirloom dresses,” Stevens said. “Formal evening gowns or ball gowns should be worn by divisions Pre-Teen through Miss. Only Little Miss and Miss will be required to have an interview.
“Little Miss contestants should wear sporty casual attire for the interview and Miss contestants should wear a suit, nice pants suit or a nice Sunday dress for the interview.”
The Miss and Little Miss Brundidge Pageant will feature an opening number for the 6:30 p.m. pageant, and contestants should wear a solid neon top, flattering jeans with no holes, rips or tears and a nude, neutral black shoe.
“All divisions will be judged on stage presence and personality,” Stevens said. “There will be additional categories which all contestants can enter. Those categories are prettiest eyes, hair, smile and dress and the photogenic category. The entry fee for each category is $5.
Entertainment for the Miss and Little Miss Brundidge Pageant will be provided by local singers and musicians.
