Five drug-related arrests were made by the Troy Police Department on Monday as part of two separate cases.

Four of the five arrests were made at Green’s Trailer Park on Blind Jack Road when Troy police executed a search warrant at roughly 8:45 p.m. Monday.

Mitchell Bernard Johnson, 30; Robert Terrell Smiley, 20; Johnny Lewis Tolbert, 24 and Marquis Kawon Lee, 26, were arrested. All four men are Troy residents.

Johnson and Smiley were both charged with unlawful possession of marijuana second degree.

Tolbert was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana first degree and Lee was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

According to Troy Police Chief Anthony Everage, the controlled substance in question was cocaine.

Smiley’s bond was set at $500 and he was taken to the Troy City Jail, while Tolbert and Lee had their bonds set at $7,500 each and were transferred to the Pike County Jail.

Johnson did not receive bond because of his probation status and is still being held in the Pike County Jail.

The case remains under investigation. Members of the Troy Police Department Tactical Team assisted narcotics investigators in executing the search warrant. Two narcotics investigators from the Troy police department and a deputy sheriff from the Pike County Sheriffs Department that are assigned to the 12th Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force coordinated the search warrant.

The other arrest was made at approximately1:30 p.m. Monday on Henderson Highway near Pike County Lake Road.

Justin Jerrel Johnson, 24, of Clio, was arrested in the parking lot of the offices of Wayne Farms after Troy police initially made an attempt to stop Johnson’s vehicle because of an expired tag.

According to Everage, Johnson continued traveling east toward US Highway 231 on Henderson Highway before pulling into the Wayne Farms office parking lot. A second passenger with him allegedly took off on foot with a large bag.

The passenger is said to have dropped the bag while fleeing and the bag was found to contain a large amount of plant material that field-tested positively as marijuana.

Johnson was then arrested without incident and was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana second degree.

Johnson was placed in the Troy City Jail and his bond was set at $500.

An arrest warrant has been obtained for the passenger’s arrest.
