Brandon McClure and the Lending Voices Gospel Choir are preparing to host a Gospel Concert with Vicki Winans.

McClure started the Lending Voices Gospel Choir last year, and the concert is meant to serve as a fundraiser for group as well as bring a big name artist to Troy.

“I am just really excited to be bringing this concert to Troy, because I think Vicki Winans is one of the biggest gospel artists Troy has ever had,” McClure said.

Even though the concert is a few months away, McClure is encouraging people to purchase tickets early.

“Tickets are already being purchased in large amounts, and we are expecting it to sell out,” he said.

Those who purchase their tickets in advance will save $5 and won’t have to wait in line the day of the concert; tickets are $25 in advance and $30 on site.

According to her website, Vicki Winans is a well-known gospel singer best known for her hit songs “As Long as I got King Jesus” and “Shake Yourself Loose.”

Evangelist Minnie Johnson, Pike County Male Chorus, Chapter Seven of Elba and Lynntesha Roberts will also be performing at the concert.

“We really want people to come out and have a good time,” McClure said.

The concert will begin at 6 p.m. on Sept. 19 at the Troy University Claudia Crosby Theater.

Tickets can be purchased at Flo’s Kitchen in Downtown Troy and Step N Style or by calling the Lending Voices Gospel Choir office at 334-595-9644.
